The Roosevelt County Road Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining all county roads to provide safe reliable transportation for all county residents, as well as the maintenance of all road equipment. The road department continually maintains and upgrades the transportation infrastructure throughout the county to make travel safe for all residents and visitors to Roosevelt County. The road department maintains over 1210 miles of roadways within Roosevelt County employing 15 full time equipment operators and a mechanic. The New Mexico Department of Transportation also maintains hundreds of miles of state highways within the county, and many more miles of roads and alleys are maintained by municipalities.  The road department works closely with each of these entities, the rail road, and law enforcement to maintain traffic safety.

The road department is also responsible for removal of snow in inclement weather, and assisting local fire departments in creating a fire line to contain and extinguish grass fires.

We are proud to serve the needs of Roosevelt County residents with safety as our goal. School bus routes are our top priority followed by, emergency repairs, current construction projects, and reported problem areas.
