Portales, NM – As Roosevelt County COVID-19 numbers remain low, the County will continue to advance to the next phase of the recovery plan. All County employees returned to physical worksites Monday, May 4 and the transition over these past two weeks have been successful. The Roosevelt County Courthouse has been open to the public allowing access to District Court and for early voting. The doors on the west side of the building (facing the Post Office) and the elevator entrance remain open and accessible. The public is encouraged to practice social distancing and potential waiting lines for each office have been marked accordingly. Residents are encouraged to call and schedule an appointment as needed and can utilize online payment methods, the drop box or mail for all County offices located within the courthouse. The Roosevelt County Law Enforcement Complex lobby will reopen to the public on Monday, May 18. Roosevelt County continues to practice enhanced cleaning regimes and follow the COVID Safe Practices. Additional safety mechanisms have also been installed where applicable to protect both staff and the public. Roosevelt County’s rental facilities remain closed.

If you plan to vote absentee, you must request an absentee ballot by May 28 online or by mail. All eligible, major party registered voters were mailed an application by the Secretary of State.
