SWCA assists states, tribes, counties, communities, and other entities in preparing high quality community wildfire protection plans that can serve as the foundation for community and homeowner awareness and protection, funding sources for project implementation, and education and outreach. SWCA strives to create a living document that will continue to be updated throughout the years. SWCA prides itself on our ability to work with federal, state, tribal, and local governments as well as community stakeholders and homeowners. Our GIS-based wildfire risk/hazard composite assessment is used as a tool in developing risk ratings for communities and subdivisions following field-based assessments. The SWCA team includes natural resource planners, biologists, cultural resource specialists, project managers, public involvement specialists, GIT specialists, wildfire planners, and fire ecologists, as well as experienced teaming partners in on the ground implementation and fuels reduction treatments.
