Roosevelt County celebrates first-ever County-wide employee gathering

December 7, 2007 will go down in history as another first for Roosevelt County employees, for as far back as anyone can remember, the county has never hosted an Employee Appreciation gathering. The evening of December 7, changed all that. Employees were invited to gather and partake of a meal provided by the county. After the meal, Roosevelt County Commissioners, the Roosevelt County Manager, as well as Department Heads were given the opportunity to recognize and appreciate members of their staff and well as others that make the county work effectively.

Another first started this night was the presentation of “Years of Service Awards”. Employees that had completed 5, 10, 15, or 20 years of service were recognized with a token of gratitude from the county. Recipients of this honor were:

Jesse LueraJESSE LUERA began work for Roosevelt County on November 4, 2002. During the five years he has been with Roosevelt County there have been several changes in his department, but the most notable would have to be the newly completed addition to the Detention Center.

 

Janet CollinsJANET COLLINS began working for Roosevelt County on August 1, 1992. Throughout her 15 years since she was hired as a clerk in the County Clerk's office she has steadily climbed the ladder within the department. Since January, 2005 Janet has proudly held the elected title of Roosevelt County Clerk.

 

George RowanGEORGE ROWAN began work for Roosevelt County on July 1, 1987, coming to the county to assist in staffing the newly built detention center. Throughout his 20 years, he has witnessed a great deal of change and growth within both the detention center as well as within Roosevelt County.

 

Joe GilmoreJOE GILMORE was hired by Roosevelt County on October 14, 1987 to assist in maintaining the roads for the county. Through his 20 years of employment, he has watched the county grow and develop and has found that with this growth, it created more miles of roadways that require maintaining.
